Mendota Heights Police Department

The Mendota Heights Police Department consists of 16 sworn Police Officers and three civilian employees.  Ten Patrol Officers are assigned to the patrol division and work one of three rotating shifts; days, afternoon or overnights.  One Officer is assigned to the investigations division and one Officer is assignment as the School Resource Officer working primarily at Henry Sibley High School.  The department also utilizes the services of a Reserve Officers Corp.  Supervisory staffing currently consists of the Chief of Police and three Sergeants.

MISSION STATEMENT

The mission statement of the Mendota Heights Police Department is to provide the highest quality, professional police services to the communities of Mendota Heights, Lilydale and Mendota.

Residents should call 9-1-1 any time they need Police, Fire or an Ambulance to respond.


But it's after hours! Now what do I do?:
If you arrive at the Police Department and find the door locked, but you have an urgent question or situation, you can use the phone located in the police (lower level) vestibule and connect directly with Dakota County Dispatch.


COMMUNITY NOTIFICATION SYSTEM

Dakota County offers EMERGENCY ALERTS that are sent out by Dakota County Dispatch.  This notification system is designed to quickly alert the public, specifically targeting areas where emergencies could affect their health &/or welfare. The system is capable of sending up to 60,000 calls and messages per hour to many types of electronic devices.
 
In addition to your registered land-line telephones, residents and businesses in Dakota County can use the DCC website to self-register their cellular device, other contact telephone numbers and email addresses they would like alerted in the event of an emergency.  To self-register, please visit:

This site is only monitored during business hours Mon - Fri 8:00am - 4:30pm.

To request police data, please fill out the MHPD Government Data Request Form.  There is a 10-day window to respond to the request.  A .25 per page fee will apply unless you choose to get the data emailed.  All data must be either picked up in person or you may mail a self-addressed stamped envelope to return any data to you.
