Stormwater Management

The City of Mendota Heights is part of three organizations that assist and provide guidance in matters of stormwater runoff and surface water quality:

• Lower Mississippi River Watershed Management

• Dakota County Watershed Management

• Lower Minnesota River Watershed District

These organizations, and the City documents listed below, provide the framework for water quality and quantity management for the City of Mendota Heights. In addition, City Staff is currently formulating a long term maintenance plan for all stormwater treatment ponds in the City.  The Stormwater Pond Maintenance Plan (SPMP) is anticipated to be before City Council in draft form for review sometime during 2011. Stormwater Utility if funded through a $5.00 flat rate fee that is paid as part of the quarterly Sanitary Sewer Bills.  This fee is reviewed annually for adequacy in funding the City.
